A main concern for choice of platforms is access for students. Whatever tool used will need to be accessible to all students.

Today I am beginning to create a Google Site for my class final project.
https://sites.google.com/site/bblyweb/home
I have added a template "blueprint" and used the main features:
- Webpage
- File Cabinet
- Announcement
- List
Final Project Progress Portfolio
1. Create your own Blog or Google Site to document your progress on your Final Project.
(All the examples above are Google Sites, but you can use Blogger to achieve the same outcome)
If you are using Google Sites, you can create your own or use the following template for Final Project Documentation Site.
If you are using Blogger, you can use the ADD PAGES features of Blogger to create a Final Project Documentation Blog. Seetutorial for creating new pages.
2. Create a Post that starts to document your Final Project Journey.
If
you are using a Google Site you can Create a Page using the
"Announcement" template and name it JOURNEY and use this Announcement
type page to post a weekly entry. Make sure it is visible for anyone
with the Link or shared with all the members of this class to view.
You are welcomed to create this site outside the Graduate Center (ie.
in your own domain)
If you are using a Blog (Blogger) , you can simply create a new post each week that includes the title JOURNEY - Week #.
Add one entry per week (Week 7, 8, 9, 10, ) documenting your progress.
Each
week must include a summary of your progress this week on your Final
Project and include you goals for next week. Include any questions or
reflections as you proceed.
Add one entry per day worked (Week
11 & 12) During the last two weeks (Week 11 and 12) Add a new post
to the journey every day you work on the project and give us an update.
Documenting your process is a big part of the final grade for the
project.
3. Add 5 SEPARATE Pages to your Blog or Site with the following title and requirement. This week please create all 5 pages below but only fill in the details for the DESCRIPTION and GOALS pages. You can go back and edit the description and goals as they become clearer throughout the project.

the online collaborative project and who will be the collaboraors in the project (Student- student) (teacher - students) (community - teacher) (customer - business) (business - business) etc. |
GOALS:
|
Include 2 or more specific goals for using online collaboration tools (Google Apps) in a transformative way.

What problem are you trying to solve?
Will online collaboration help solve this problem in a way that markedly 'transforms/changes current practice?
What need do you see that Google Apps could help meet?
|
STRATEGIES:
|
Your project should include explicit strategies for supporting your
project goals. What steps will you take to get complete the project
and meet the goals of the project?
Perhaps a timeline? or calendar?
Which online collaborative tools will be used in each of these steps?
|
